# Pre-market Surge of 4%: Oracle and AWS Deepen Multi-Cloud Collaboration, Enterprise-Grade High-Speed Private Interconnect to Launch This Year

Oracle and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced an expansion of their multi-cloud network collaboration. Both parties plan to integrate their respective cloud interconnect products to establish enterprise-grade, high-performance private connections between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS, helping customers run applications seamlessly, transfer data, and advance AI modernization across the two platforms.

According to a Thursday announcement, **both sides will connect Oracle Interconnect with AWS Interconnect-multicloud to provide fast, private, managed cross-cloud connectivity for enterprise customers.** Nathan Thomas, Senior Vice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Product Management, stated that this collaboration builds upon the foundation of Oracle AI Database@AWS and will help joint customers "achieve application modernization, unified data management, and unlock new generative AI opportunities."

Following the announcement, **Oracle shares rose 4.18% in U.S. pre-market trading.** This partnership integrates existing enterprise-grade interconnect capabilities from both cloud platforms, expected to further expand Oracle's reach in the multi-cloud market and create more implementation scenarios for its core product lines such as AI databases. The interconnect service is scheduled to launch first in AWS US East regions later this year.

## Interconnect Architecture: Bridging Two Platforms, Phasing Out Physical Network Infrastructure

The technical core of this collaboration lies in integrating OCI's native cross-cloud interconnect capabilities with AWS Interconnect-multicloud open specifications. **OCI currently covers 26 interconnect partner cloud regions; its interconnect capabilities are designed specifically for enterprise workloads, supporting secure, private, and highly available cloud-to-cloud connections without relying on traditional manually configured network solutions.**

The open specifications of AWS Interconnect-multicloud have previously driven the development of next-generation enterprise multi-cloud connection solutions. This collaboration represents the latest addition to Oracle's comprehensive multi-cloud capability system and marks further expansion of OCI's interconnect footprint among mainstream cloud platforms.

The partnership supports both "full-stack" and "split-stack" multi-cloud deployment models, allowing enterprises to fully leverage the differentiated advantages of multiple cloud providers while avoiding the need to manage multiple network service providers or lay physical network infrastructure.

Through unified connectivity between OCI and AWS, customers can accelerate AI modernization between the two cloud environments while avoiding complex data replication operations, reducing overall management burdens while maintaining operational flexibility.

## AI Strategy: Deepening and Extending Oracle AI Database@AWS Collaboration

Nathan Thomas noted that Oracle AI Database@AWS previously enabled customers to run Oracle AI database workloads in the AWS environment with the same functionality, architecture, and performance as on-premises deployments. He stated that this cross-cloud interconnect collaboration represents further advancement on that foundation, helping joint customers accelerate the integration of data assets and seize new opportunities brought by generative AI.

Oracle emphasized that as enterprises accelerate AI transformation, continuously enhancing multi-cloud interconnect capabilities will help customers flexibly schedule resources across different cloud environments, advancing AI modernization while meeting operational flexibility requirements. According to plans, the aforementioned interconnect features will be officially launched later this year.
