# Meituan's community supermarket brand "Happy Monkey" opens its first store in South China

MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) officially opened its first community supermarket brand "Happy Monkey" in South China, located opposite Amber City in Chancheng, Foshan. This store, along with the first store in Guangzhou, forms a dual first-store layout in South China, focusing on high cost-performance household necessities.

"Happy Monkey" is a new type of community supermarket that emphasizes extreme cost-performance, leveraging Meituan's supply chain advantages, from direct sourcing to streamlined operations. With over 1,600 SKUs covering essential household items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, and baked goods, it includes a large number of private label products.

Since the opening of its first store in August last year, the brand has opened stores in cities such as Hangzhou, Beijing, Ningbo, and Shaoxing. Currently, there are 24 operating and planned stores nationwide, forming a pattern of deep cultivation in East China, pilot projects in North China, and breakthroughs in South China
