After Iran announced the complete opening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, European stock markets surged significantly on Friday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 1.2%.

The UK FTSE 100 index increased by 52 points or 0.5%, closing at 10,642 points.

The German DAX index rose by 497 points or 2.1%, closing at 24,651 points.

The French CAC 40 index increased by 159 points or 1.9%, closing at 8,422 points
