According to Busan News, a source familiar with Samsung's internal operations stated, "The company has formulated and is executing a plan to launch a new generation of HBM annually to match the release schedule of major clients' new AI accelerators, such as NVIDIA." This adjustment has direct and profound implications for the market. A shorter iteration cycle means Samsung can respond more flexibly to product roadmap changes by large technology clients, striving for a larger share in the customized HBM market. Analysts believe this move helps Samsung avoid falling behind in the technological generational competition against the backdrop of continued expansion in AI infrastructure investment. Two-Year Cycle No Longer Viable; AI Accelerator Paces Force Transformation For many years, Samsung has advanced HBM standard generations on an approximate two-year cycle.
