According to Busan News, a source familiar with Samsung's internal operations stated, **"The company has formulated and is executing a plan to launch a new generation of HBM annually to match the release schedule of major clients' new AI accelerators, such as NVIDIA."**

This adjustment has direct and profound implications for the market. **A shorter iteration cycle means Samsung can respond more flexibly to product roadmap changes by large technology clients, striving for a larger share in the customized HBM market.**

Analysts believe this move helps Samsung avoid falling behind in the technological generational competition against the backdrop of continued expansion in AI infrastructure investment.

## **Two-Year Cycle No Longer Viable; AI Accelerator Paces Force Transformation**

For many years, Samsung has advanced HBM standard generations on an approximate two-year cycle.

Currently, its latest mass-produced product is HBM3E, while the next-generation HBM4 is expected to be launched later this year alongside new AI accelerator platforms such as NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform and AMD's Instinct MI400 platform.
