# NVIDIA Releases Quantum Computing Model Igniting Market Rally as Xanadu Founder Joins Billionaire Ranks in Three Days

NVIDIA's key endorsement of the quantum computing field sent shares of a previously obscure startup nearly tripling in value within days, propelling its founder into billionaire status.

On Tuesday, **NVIDIA released an open-source artificial intelligence model designed specifically for quantum computing research, triggering a rally across the quantum computing sector.**

As of press time, Xanadu Quantum Technologies shares were trading at $30.20, **representing a 263% increase from Monday's closing price, with the equity held by founder Christian Weedbrook valued at approximately $1.5 billion.**

This market surge benefited more than just the company itself. Early investors including the Municipal Workers Pension Fund of Ontario, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Georgian Partners also reaped substantial gains during this sharp rise in share prices.

## NVIDIA Endorsement Triggers Quantum Computing Sector Rally

The catalyst for this surge was NVIDIA's release of several open-source AI models on Tuesday—specifically designed to assist quantum computing research—which the market interpreted as a signal that the chip giant is officially committing resources to the quantum computing field.

Quantum computers theoretically offer processing capabilities far surpassing those of traditional computers, long regarded as a critical direction for next-generation computing technology.

## Founder's Equity Value Soars

Based in Toronto, Xanadu aims to build one of the first quantum data centers by 2030, utilizing a technical approach based on quantum computers that transmit photons (light particles) via fiber optics.

In March this year, Xanadu completed its public listing through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). Since then, its stock had traded below $10 for an extended period until surging sharply this week amid rapidly improving industry sentiment.

According to documents filed by Xanadu with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 26, Christian Weedbrook holds 15.6% of the company's shares.

With the company's market capitalization tripling over the week, his stake is now valued at approximately $1.5 billion, swiftly elevating him to billionaire status.
