# Nanofilm Technology's new research laboratory at Nanjing University is operational, supporting key industries such as semiconductors with innovative technology | Lianhe Zaobao

Local listed company Nanofilm Technologies has officially launched the NTI-NTU Corporate Lab in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University. The nanotechnology developed by the lab will support the development of key industries in our country, including semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy.

The NTI-NTU Corporate Lab was established with an investment of SGD 66 million in November 2023 and is now fully operational, with over 60 researchers and PhD students.

Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Minister for Communications and Information, officiated the launch ceremony for the lab on Monday (April 20). In his speech, he stated, "In an increasingly complex global economic environment, the lab exemplifies how our country maintains a competitive edge in science and technology. Through next-generation coating technologies and AI-driven optimization frameworks, we will further solidify Singapore's position in high-growth areas and create more opportunities for Singaporeans."

The NTI-NTU Corporate Lab is part of Singapore's Research Innovation and Enterprise 2025 (RIE2025) plan.

The lab is currently undertaking 10 industry-oriented projects across four major research areas: coating equipment technology, advanced materials, nanomanufacturing, and hydrogen energy.

Dr. Shi Xu, founder, executive chairman, and CEO of Nanofilm Technologies, said, "We understand the problems, solutions, and customer needs; this industrial perspective makes the lab a launch platform."

Nanyang Technological University Vice President (Industry) Lam Khin Yong pointed out that the lab demonstrates the potential for collaboration between universities, industries, and public institutions.

Founded in 1999 and listed on the Singapore Exchange in 2020, Nanofilm Technologies is a nanotechnology solutions company that provides solutions covering semiconductors and advanced manufacturing, photonics, life sciences and medical devices, consumer electronics, automotive, and precision engineering. Its business footprint spans Singapore, China, Germany, Japan, India, and Vietnam.

Last Friday (17th), Nanofilm Technologies closed at SGD 0.86, up 1.18%, and has risen over 45% since the beginning of the year
