# Ma Shiheng: Going global with "Chuhai Global Pass" helps Hong Kong's economy and calls for viewing the Middle East situation as an opportunity

Regarding the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's launch of "Global Access," the council's chairman, Peter Lam, recently stated during a program on Commercial Radio that Hong Kong can provide professional services such as accounting, taxation, and finance for mainland enterprises, playing the role of a "super connector" and "super value creator," which will help boost the local economy.

He believes that the changes in mainland China over the past two decades have been significant, with high-speed rail development ranking first in the world and electric vehicle development surpassing that of the United States. He is confident that there will be unlimited business opportunities during the "going global" phase in the coming decades. He also urged all sectors to embrace the new wave and consider how to leverage Hong Kong's advantages to support mainland enterprises.

As for the recent tensions in the Middle East, Peter Lam pointed out that some areas in the Middle East are experiencing "missiles flying everywhere," while Hong Kong remains more stable. He suggested turning crises into opportunities, viewing the situation in the Middle East as a chance to attract more capital and talent, thereby consolidating Hong Kong's position as a financial center. However, he noted that small and medium-sized enterprises need to plan for the challenges posed by rising oil prices and logistics costs due to the situation, and the Trade Development Council will assist SMEs in "expanding sources," but "cost-saving" measures must be the responsibility of the enterprises themselves.

He also revealed that, in addition to the ASEAN market, they are actively evaluating resource investments in potential markets in Central Asia, Africa, South America, and Eastern Europe
