# Cathay Pacific's first-class lounge "The Wing" reopens, Lin Shaobo: Enhancing the experience for passengers at every stage

Cathay Pacific Airways (293) announced the reopening of the "The Wing" first-class lounge located at Hong Kong International Airport, which will officially resume service on April 22 with an upgraded new look. Today marks the first unveiling, signifying a new chapter in Cathay Pacific's comprehensive upgrade plan for airport lounges at important destinations in Hong Kong and globally. Cathay Pacific CEO Ronald Lam stated that the company is investing over HKD 100 billion in fleet, cabin, airport lounges, and digital innovation to continuously enhance the passenger experience at every stage.

## New York's JFK Airport to Welcome Its First Lounge

Cathay Pacific indicated that the comprehensive lounge upgrade plan began with the Hong Kong "The Pier" lounge and the Cathay Pacific Beijing lounge. In addition to "The Wing" first-class lounge, the local first exclusive lounge will also be welcomed later this year when Terminal 6 at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport opens and relocates. The company further stated that the "The Wing" business lounge will also temporarily suspend service for renovation work and is expected to reopen in 2027.

## Commitment to a People-Centric Approach

Cathay Pacific noted that "The Wing" first-class lounge is located in the east wing of the Terminal 1 passenger building at Hong Kong International Airport and has been an important part of Cathay Pacific's ground services since the airport opened in 1998. The company stated that this upgrade combines contemporary aesthetics with a home-like comfort atmosphere, retaining the original warm ambiance and familiarity while improving space planning, dining, and services to enhance passenger comfort and provide more privacy.

Ronald Lam indicated that its reopening is an important milestone in the design development of Cathay's flagship lounge, fully reflecting the group's commitment to a people-centric approach
