# Sonic Research Highlights Quantum Vulnerability in Proof-of-Stake Blockchains

Sonic Research has identified a significant vulnerability in most proof-of-stake blockchains, which rely on elliptic-curve signatures and aggregation schemes. According to NS3.AI, these systems are susceptible to quantum attacks. Sonic Research suggests that its SonicCS technology can transition to post-quantum security by altering its signature scheme, while maintaining its core consensus design.
