# LayerZero Infrastructure Breach Leads to rsETH Incident

Kelp has identified the cause of the rsETH incident on April 18 as a breach in LayerZero infrastructure, rather than its own systems. According to NS3.AI, the incident involved compromised RPC nodes and a DDoS attack, which allowed an attacker to forge a cross-chain message and drain assets from the bridge adapter.
