# Foxconn to manufacture humanoid robots in Vietnam

Fushan Technology (Vietnam), a subsidiary of Foxconn (also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry), is seeking permission to manufacture humanoid robots in its factory in Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Ninh.

According to Fushan Technology (Vietnam)’s environmental impact assessment report, the project started in 2011 when the firm was established originally as Nokia Vietnam. After changes in Nokia and Microsoft, the firm became Fushan Technology Vietnam in 2017.

Prior to the latest proposed change, Fushan Technology (Vietnam) has an annual capacity of 171.2 million items. Notable items are 140 million mobile phones, 100,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 4.8 million electronic devices, 12 million sound devices, and others.

The latest change will increase the factory’s annual output by 1.25 percent to 173.4 million items, equivalent to 76,919 tons. The addition output belongs to new lines of measuring, testing, navigation and control equipment with 80,000 items; and molds-mold components with 4,101 items. Another is machinery, automation equipment, autonomous vehicles, humanoid industrial robots, and others with 100 items.

Fushan Technology (Vietnam) aims to install new production lines in May-August 2026, enter trial production in September 2026, and start official production from November 2026.

Foxconn has been investing in Vietnam, particularly Bac Ninh province, since 2007, with a total investment of $4 billion, employing 130,000 people. In early April 2026, Foxconn inaugurated its Vietnamese office in Hanoi, in order to improve its management and cooperation with the Vietnamese authorities.

Also in April, Foxconn said it would invest $58.3 million more in Fushan Technology (Vietnam), according to a filing of the Taiwanese electronic giant sent to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). The investment can bring Foxconn’s total investment in Fushan Technology (Vietnam) to approximately $226 million.
