# BUZZ-Lilly down after UnitedHealth pushes back on Medicare GLP-1 program

Shares of drugmaker Eli Lilly (LLY.N) fall 2.2% to $900

Citi says LLY is under pressure after UnitedHealth (UNH.N) raised doubts about joining a proposed Medicare program that could broaden access to GLP-1 obesity drugs such as Lilly’s Zepbound

The CMS “BALANCE” program aims to open Medicare coverage for GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, with broad access potentially starting in January 2027

CVS Health (CVS.N) also says it will not participate in the program, adding uncertainty around insurer uptake

Citi says the timing of the push back is unsurprising, and views it as public negotiation rather than a final decision

Including session moves, LLY down 16.3%
