Here is what you need to know. EARNINGS: The chipmaker is expected to post a loss of 14 cents a share, compared with a loss of 19 cents a year before, according to FactSet. ADJUSTED EARNINGS: Stripping out certain one-time items, earnings are expected to come in at 2 cents a share, compared with 13 cents a share the prior year. REVENUE: The company is expected to report $12.41 billion in sales, compared with $12.67 billion in the year-ago quarter, according to FactSet. The stock has risen 20% during the past three months and closed up Wednesday at $65.27. WHAT TO WATCH: \-- Intel recently landed a major chip supply deal with Google and was named a partner in Elon Musk's Terafab project, which aims to build a massive new chip production facility in Texas that would serve the needs of both Tesla and SpaceX. Analysts will be looking for further details around those projects, especially given the Terafab announcement gave few details. Benchmark analyst Cody Acree said the Terafab announcement has clear symbolic importance, validating that Intel has made progress on its 18A technology and manufacturing execution, while the Google partnership shows it's still squarely involved in the AI chip game. \-- Analysts will also continue to keep an eye on any commentary around elevated memory costs, which could drag on personal computer sales and hurt Intel's core business in designing processors for PCs. "We are incrementally more cautious on the PC market this year resulting from memory shortages and price inflation," Raymond James analysts said. "The supply chain is re-prioritizing memory from PCs and mobile devices, to data center servers." \-- Mizuho analysts expect near-term server CPU demand has accelerated with the rise of agentic artificial intelligence, setting up for a boost for Intel. The analysts forecast strong demand for server CPUs will continue through the end of this year, and potentially through 2030.
