According to informed sources, Apple is developing a new suite of tools powered by its intelligent platform for the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 systems set to launch this fall. This series of features will utilize on-device AI models to support users in expanding images, optimizing image quality, and re-composing photos. Relevant insiders have indicated that such AI processing operations typically take only a few seconds to complete. In the field of AI image editing, Apple is currently in a catch-up phase. Google has launched advanced AI photo editing features in its Pixel series devices over the years, including magic eraser, photo de-blurring, and generative upscaling tools. Samsung Electronics, which operates on the Android system, has also heavily invested in AI image editing capabilities in its Galaxy smartphone series. Currently, the editing features of the Apple Photos app are mainly divided into four major sections: Adjust, Filters, Crop, and Remove. Among these, only the Remove function is an AI-driven tool that allows users to eliminate unnecessary objects from the image. In the upcoming new system, Apple will add a section called 'Apple Intelligent Tools' in the editing interface, integrating four major functions: image expansion, quality enhancement, composition adjustment, and object removal. Image Expansion: Automatically generates extended images beyond the original boundaries. For example, after taking a close-up shot of a landmark, this tool can fill in the surrounding environment; users can manually slide the edge of the image to customize the expansion range and area. Quality Enhancement: Automatically optimizes photo colors, lighting, and overall quality through AI. Composition Adjustment: Primarily adapted for spatial photos (a 3D image format created for Apple's Vision Pro headset), allowing users to adjust the perspective of the image after shooting. For instance, in a photo of a vehicle, the front view can be slightly adjusted to a side view. However, the development of these new features has not been smooth sailing. Several internal testers have revealed that the stability of the image expansion and composition adjustment tools is currently insufficient. Apple may delay the launch or streamline related features based on the optimization progress of the underlying AI models. Apple's first AI photo editing tool has already faced criticism. Since its launch, many users have reported that the 'object removal' effect is unstable, often resulting in image flaws, distortion, or content filling inaccuracies This year, Apple's system updates focus on two core directions: first, optimizing the Siri voice assistant to improve Apple's smart ecosystem layout; second, refining the system's underlying architecture to enhance performance. This optimization will effectively extend device battery life, reduce system vulnerabilities, and address the stability issues left over from last year's large-scale visual redesign. At the same time, Apple is also developing multiple AI-related upgrades: launching a standalone Siri application, creating a new interactive interface similar to chatbots; opening up access for third-party voice assistants in the App Store; and upgrading Siri's command logic to support the execution of multiple operations within a single request ### Related Stocks - [AAPL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPL.US.md) - [AAPX.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPX.US.md) - [AAPB.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPB.US.md) - [AAPU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPU.US.md) - [AAPD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPD.US.md) - [AAPY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AAPY.US.md) - [APLY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/APLY.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Get Ready for a New Siri: Will a New Assistant Be a Game-Changer for Apple Stock?](https://longbridge.com/en/news/283676673.md) - [Apple Stock: Analyst Estimates & Ratings](https://longbridge.com/en/news/284237212.md) - [Lovable brings Its AI app builder to your mobile device](https://longbridge.com/en/news/284430859.md) - [Apple’s Strategic Pivot: Trading Optimization for Engineering Mastery](https://longbridge.com/en/news/284438188.md) - [Apple Weather App Experiencing Outage](https://longbridge.com/en/news/284431667.md)
