# Prudential PLC 1Q New Business Profit $686.0 Million, Up 10% on Year

Prudential PLC's new business profit rose 10% in the first quarter supported by strong growth in mainland China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

At a constant exchange rate, the new business profit was $686.0 million compared to $625 million a year earlier, Prudential PLC said Wednesday.

The insurance and investment company said that annual premium equivalent sales--a key metric for the industry--rose to $1.823 billion, up 6% on year.

"We remain confident in delivering double-digit growth across our key financial metrics in 2026 and achieving our 2027 financial objectives," Chief Executive Officer Anil Wadhwani said.
