She succeeds **Ruth Metzler-Arnold**, who is leaving the body after fourteen years to concentrate on her role as President of Swiss Olympic, according to a statement issued by the insurer on Wednesday. **Former CFO of Zurich Switzerland** Bornmann brings extensive experience in the Swiss insurance industry. The 57-year-old economist served as Group Head Planning and Performance Management at Zurich Insurance Group until 2024. From 2015 to 2020, she was a member of the executive committee of Zurich Switzerland as Chief Financial Officer. Her responsibilities also included various international board mandates, as well as serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the pension fund of Zurich Insurance Group from 2021 to 2024. From 2009 to 2015, Bornmann worked at Swiss Life, initially as CFO Swiss Life International and later as Head Group Controlling. Prior to that, in 2008, she took over the management of the M&A department of the German hospital group AMEOS. Between 1998 and 2008, she worked at KPMG, from 2006 as Head Corporate Finance and Partner. She began her professional career in 1994 as an Associate in Mergers and Acquisitions at UBS. «I am extremely pleased that, with Bettina, a proven insurance expert with many years of experience in finance and risk is joining our Board of Directors,» said Chairman **Antimo Perretta**. _«_I am convinced that, with her extensive experience in an international corporate environment, her in-depth expertise and her distinctly economic perspective, she will provide many valuable impulses, particularly with regard to progressive and customer-friendly new offerings.» **14 Years on the Board – Six as Vice Chair** Ruth Metzler-Arnold served on the Board of Directors for fourteen years, including six years as Vice Chair.
