# China’s factory activity remains in expansion in April, PMI shows

BEIJING, April 30 (Reuters) - China’s factory activity expanded for a second straight month in April, an official survey showed on Thursday, suggesting that growth momentum held despite external shocks stemming from the Middle East war. The official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) dipped to 50.3 from 50.4 in March, above the 50-mark separating growth from contraction, according to a survey by the National Bureau of Statistics. It beat a median forecast of 50.1 in a Reuters poll.
