# BUZZ-Mexican baker Bimbo on roll for four-year high as Q1 kneads $1.2 bln into market value

April 30 (Reuters) - Shares in Mexico’s Grupo Bimbo (BIMBOA.MX) , among the world’s top distributors of baked goods, soar 9% in early trading, on track for its best day in four years, after first-quarter results beat forecasts and it edged up its 2026 guidance

Thursday’s gains add 20.3 billion pesos ($1.16 billion) to company’s market value and set the stock on track for its best day since April 2022

For 2026, Bimbo now expects net sales of mid single-digit growth when stripping out currency effects, from a prior low-to-mid single-digit forecast, but flat to low-single digit decline including currency effects.

Bimbo sees 60-110 basis point margin growth in 2026, when it pegs $1.2-$1.4 billion for capital expenditures

Analysts at Scotiabank hail a welcome guidance upgrade and “impressive” surge in core earnings with North America “the standout star” as it flipped to 1% top-line growth

“With an updated, raised margin outlook, we remain firm in the bull camp,” Scotiabank says, adding that Bimbo entered 2026 with the bulk of its commodity needs already hedged ($1 = 17.5072 Mexican pesos)
