# BUZZ-Hong Kong-listed ASMPT climbs on unit sale to Applied Materials

Shares of ASMPT Ltd (0522.HK) climb 4.6% to HK$170.6, on track for their biggest one-day pct gain since April 24

Stock touches the highest point since April 28, and on course to snap two declining sessions

Semiconductor hardware and software solutions provider says its unit has agreed to sell entire AAMPT Nexx Inc to Applied Materials Inc (AMAT.O) for $120 mln in cash subject to adjustments

Say sale of the electrochemical deposition equipment supplying unit will sharpen its focus on the back-end packaging business and to reallocate resources in line with its strategic priorities

YTD, stock up 115.9%, benchmark Hang Seng Index (.HSI) up 2.2%
