# Live updates: Trump warns Iran to agree to deal or face ‘higher level’ of bombing

With the U.S. and Iran reportedly closing in on a peace deal, President Trump on Wednesday morning warned the Islamic Republic to come to terms. “If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” he posted on Truth Social.

The U.S. and Iran are nearing an agreement on a one-page memorandum to end the two-month conflict and establish a framework for talks on Tehran’s nuclear program, a source familiar with the talks told The Hill’s sister network NewsNation.

On Capitol Hill, Senate GOP leaders are moving forward with a budget reconciliation package to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol through 2029, but Republicans on the Senate Appropriations Committee are not happy about the plan.

Trump on Wednesday will attend a Military Mothers event at lunchtime, alongside first lady Melania Trump.
