# Amazon.sg to phase out local fulfilment as it expands international store

**The shift will give Singapore customers access to more products from Amazon’s US, Japan, and Germany stores.**

As part of its shift toward expanding international selection, Amazon.sg will phase out local fulfilment in Singapore, including Amazon Fresh and grocery partners.

It said that it will continue to offer everyday essentials across categories such as health and personal care, apparel, home, and kitchen.

The company said it will prioritise investment in products from Amazon’s US, Japan, and Germany stores, giving Singapore customers access to tens of millions of international products through Amazon.sg.

Amazon said the move follows customer demand, noting that the majority of units sold on Amazon.sg come from its international store.

Customers will still be able to shop through a local storefront using local currency and payment methods, with locally relevant deals, deal events, and Amazon customer service.

Prime members in Singapore will continue to receive benefits, including fast free delivery on eligible items, Prime Video, Amazon Luna gaming benefits, exclusive Prime deals, and shopping events such as Prime Day. Eligible International Store orders can be delivered in as little as two days.

A small number of roles in Amazon Singapore’s Stores organisation will be affected. Amazon said it will help affected employees find new roles within the company where possible, whilst those unable to secure or pursue new roles will receive transition support, including severance payments and career transition services.
