# TSMC April sales jump 17.5% on sustained AI chip demand

Investing.com- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) (TW:2330) reported a 17.5% rise in April revenue on Friday, supported by sustained demand for advanced artificial intelligence chips.
The world’s largest contract chipmaker said April revenue rose to NT$410.73 billion ($13.08 billion), from NT$349.57 billion a year earlier. Revenue, however, fell 1.1% from March’s NT$415.19 billion.
For the first four months of 2026, revenue climbed 29.9% year-on-year to NT$1.54 trillion, the company said in a statement.

TSMC, a major supplier to Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), has benefited from strong global spending on AI infrastructure and high-performance computing chips.
Last month, TSMC posted a record-high profit for the first quarter of 2026.
For the current quarter, it has forecast sales between $39 billion and $40.2 billion, compared to $35.9 billion in the first quarter.
Investors are closely watching whether geopolitical tensions, including U.S.-China technology restrictions and supply chain risks, could affect semiconductor demand and capital spending across the industry.
Taipei-listed shares of the company traded 0.9% lower at NT$2,290.0 by 06:13 GMT.
