(Image credit: Avatr) Avatr Technology, an electric vehicle (EV) brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, previewed an all-new model on Friday as it expands its product lineup. Avatr shared multiple camouflaged images of the model on Weibo, calling it an expansion of the Avatr 07 series. The new model, widely expected to be named the Avatr 07L, is anticipated to feature an extended wheelbase to provide greater interior space. This indicates that the new vehicle is expected to be equipped with Huawei's 896-channel LiDAR sensor, further enhancing its advanced smart driving assistance capabilities. To date, the Chinese EV maker's existing product lineup includes the Avatr 06, Avatr 06T, Avatr 07, Avatr 11, Avatr 12, Avatr 011, and Avatr 012, covering both sedan and SUV categories. The Avatr 07, first launched in September 2024, is the brand's first model to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. The currently available 2026 Avatr 07 is offered in six variants, with starting prices ranging from 219,900 yuan ($32,330) to 279,900 yuan. Avatr also offers the Avatr 07 Pro+ edition, which includes one BEV and one EREV variant, starting at 219,900 yuan and 229,900 yuan, respectively. The Avatr 07L is expected to be included in the regulatory filing catalog of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in the coming days. Its price is projected to be higher than that of the standard Avatr 07.
