# Tesla recalls 173 Cybertrucks

Due to structural defects in the braking components that may pose serious driving safety risks, Tesla has announced a recall of 173 Cybertrucks.

The report released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicates that this recall batch includes 2024 to 2026 Cybertrucks equipped with 18-inch steel wheels. The related defect lies in the fact that the brake disc bolt holes of the vehicle are prone to cracking under mechanical stress when driving on bumpy roads or during steering maneuvers. With continued operation of the vehicle, this hazard could lead to the eventual breakage or loosening of the wheel hub bolts, resulting in a loss of vehicle control stability, thereby significantly increasing the risk of collisions and personal injuries.

In response to the aforementioned safety hazard, Tesla stated that it will provide free repair services for the vehicles involved in the recall. The specific corrective measures include a comprehensive replacement of the front and rear brake discs, wheel hubs, and associated nut components with higher strength versions for the affected vehicles, in order to completely eliminate potential safety threats
