However, on Saturday May 9, less than three days from when the even was scheduled to take place, an email was sent to attendees informing them it had been postponed. No explanation was provided. While delays and scheduling changes are not uncommon, the timing of this postponement is drawing criticism from attendees, and Tesla fans in general. Because the event was being held in Fremont, buyers from across North America were expected to fly in for the occasion. Many attendees had likely spent thousands of dollars booking flights, reserving hotels, securing rental vehicles, and rescheduled work to attend what Tesla itself promoted as a once-in-a-lifetime celebration for the “first of the last deliveries” of the Signature Edition vehicles.
