# Nike Faces Consumer Class Action Lawsuit Over Retention of Tariff Refunds

03:53 AM EDT, 05/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nike ( NKE ) is being sued by customers who allege the athletic brand failed to return tariff-related costs it previously passed on through price hikes, multiple news outlets reported Saturday, citing federal court documents.

The legal action follows a February Supreme Court decision that invalidated various trade duties, potentially allowing the company to keep government refunds, the reports said.

The footwear manufacturer previously indicated it paid roughly $1 billion in levies on imported products, as plaintiffs claim the business increased prices on shoes and clothing by as much as $10 to compensate for those expenses, the news outlets reported.

Nike ( NKE ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
