According to White House officials, CEOs from 16 well-known American companies will accompany Trump on his trip, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. According to U.S. media reports, Trump departed for Beijing on the 12th (Tuesday) and will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 14th (Thursday). In addition to the Iran issue, the two leaders are expected to discuss trade and artificial intelligence among other topics. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, previously led the Trump administration's "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) until leaving in the spring of 2025. This controversial temporary agency was officially closed in November 2025. Musk also owns the social platform X, where he had a heated exchange with Trump in the summer of 2025. Musk claimed without any evidence that the government was concealing the president's relationship with the media mogul Jeffrey Epstein. Musk ultimately stated that he regretted some of the comments he made about Trump on X. Afterward, Musk refocused his efforts on running the electric vehicle brand Tesla. Tesla has a significant business presence in China, and Musk has visited China multiple times. As Cook's tenure at Apple comes to an end, he remains busy. In April, Cook announced that his 15-year leadership of the tech company would conclude on September 1, at which point he will hand over the CEO responsibilities to Apple hardware engineering chief John Ternus. During Cook's tenure as CEO, Apple's market value soared by over $3.6 trillion during the boom driven by the iPhone. Cook will continue to serve as chairman. Apple's heavy reliance on overseas manufacturing requires Cook to be adept in politics and diplomacy, especially during Trump's two presidential terms when a trade war was launched against China. After persuading Trump to exclude the iPhone and other products from tariffs during his first term, Cook faced even tougher challenges during this administration. After Trump's return to the White House in 2025, he insisted that Apple move iPhone production from China to the U.S., while also imposing some tariffs on the iPhone. However, Cook managed to minimize costs by shifting the production of iPhones sold in the U.S. market to India and secured some exemptions after promising that Apple would invest $60 billion in the U.S. during Trump's second term. Earlier reports indicated that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was not invited to accompany Trump on his visit to China. A source told CNBC that after seeing media reports about Huang's absence from the delegation, Trump called Huang to invite him to join According to Reuters, Jensen Huang was seen boarding Air Force One to visit China with Trump. Oberger will become the CEO of Boeing in 2024. Upon taking office, Boeing is facing many issues related to legal, regulatory, and production matters, as well as an increasingly severe financial predicament, so he has been committed to driving Boeing's recovery. A year ago, Oberger stated that he expected the China-U.S. trade war would not hinder Boeing's financial recovery and would not affect Boeing's goal of delivering aircraft to Chinese aviation companies, even though these airlines had previously refused to accept Boeing planes. In retaliation for Trump raising tariffs on Chinese products to 145%, Beijing raised import tariffs on U.S. goods to 125% in April 2025. China's tariffs will more than double the cost of Boeing's aircraft, which currently sell for tens of millions of dollars. Boeing has been negotiating with China over a potential large-scale aircraft sale, and there is public interest in whether Trump's visit can facilitate a major deal for Boeing in China. 1.
