In a new statement issued this week, the Swedish Transport Agency outlined the current status of Tesla’s FSD approval efforts within the European Union. The agency confirmed that following the provisional EU type approval issued to Tesla by the Dutch vehicle authority, RDW, in April, Sweden has been actively participating in the EU-wide evaluation process. That review is assessing whether Tesla’s system meets the safety standards required for broader deployment across EU member states. “If the member states vote in favor of the current proposal, a broader launch may be possible in the summer or autumn of 2026 at the earliest,” the agency said. One of the most important details in the update is that vehicles with valid EU type approval would not require separate authorization in Sweden. That means once the EU process is complete, Tesla could potentially activate FSD (Supervised) across multiple European countries without needing individual national approvals. The update comes after Swedish regulators granted Tesla approval in January to begin supervised urban FSD testing in Nacka, marking the first time the system was authorized for use in a Swedish city environment. That approval expanded Tesla’s testing beyond highways and expressways into more complex urban traffic conditions, including residential streets, intersections, cyclists, pedestrians, and roundabouts. A few months later, Strängnäs Municipality also approved additional public-road testing on municipal streets, further widening Tesla’s access to real-world driving environments in Sweden. ### Related Stocks - [TSL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSL.US.md) - [TSLG.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLG.US.md) - [TESL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TESL.US.md) - [TSLT.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLT.US.md) - [07766.HK](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/07766.HK.md) - [TSLR.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLR.US.md) - [TSLL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLL.US.md) - [TSDD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSDD.US.md) - [TSLQ.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLQ.US.md) - [09366.HK](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/09366.HK.md) - [07366.HK](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/07366.HK.md) - [TSLA.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/TSLA.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Tesla FSD v14.3.3 adds faster ASS and new FSD Stats [2026.14.6.6]](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286782990.md) - [Tesla now forces drivers to give feedback when intervening on ‘Full Self-Driving’](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286479354.md) - [Tesla increases Actually Smart Summon speed by 33% in new FSD update](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286678100.md) - [Tesla has a possible fix for chaotic charging lines](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286133106.md) - [Tesla Hosting “Celebrate Electric Summer” Events Across Canada and U.S. This Month](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286652394.md)
