Revenue reached $399 million, slightly above analyst expectations, while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization reached $129.5 million after a loss in the same period last year. The market reaction was immediate, with Nebius shares rising as much as 17% before trading up 12% to $201.17 at 10:17 a.m. in New York. The stock price has more than quadrupled over the last year, helped by growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and partnerships with Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) and Microsoft Corp. , while the company competes with CoreWeave Inc. and other neo-cloud startups renting out computing capacity. Still, the expansion is expensive and could keep investor attention focused on capital spending as much as growth. Nebius spent around $2.5 billion in the first quarter on chips, equipment and data center expansion, while Chief Executive Officer Arkady Volozh said in March that the company plans to spend between $16 billion and $20 billion this year.
