# GameStop CEO Reportedly Urges eBay Board to Reconsider Proposed Offer

06:07 AM EDT, 05/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GameStop ( GME ) chief executive officer Ryan Cohen urged eBay's ( EBAY ) board to reconsider his proposed $125 per share acquisition offer, multiple media outlets reported late Wednesday, citing a letter from Cohen sent to eBay ( EBAY ) chairman.

Cohen stressed that eBay ( EBAY ) should not reject his takeover proposal and its stockholders should evaluate the offer, the reports said, citing the letter.

The GameStop ( GME ) CEO also requested a meeting with eBay ( EBAY ) chairman but the request was rejected, Reuters reported.

The e-commerce platform company said Tuesday its board of directors rejected an unsolicited, non-binding buyout offer from GameStop ( GME ).

Neither GameStop ( GME ) nor eBay ( EBAY ) immediately responded to MT Newswires' request for comment.
