Days earlier, reports also emerged that Microsoft had agreed to cap its revenue-sharing payments to OpenAI at $38 billion. Since OpenAI was established in December 2015, Microsoft has pumped more than $100 billion into the startup through their partnership, according to a new testimony from Microsoft deals executive Michael Wetter. In October last year, it took a $135 billion, or 27%, stake in OpenAI as the company transitioned to a for-profit business model. However, Microsoft's relationship with OpenAI — one of the most closely-watched AI tie-ups in the industry — has not been without its challenges. The latest has been the startup's efforts to secure a $50 billion investment from Amazon (AMZN), the e-commerce giant and a cloud services rival to Microsoft. ### Related Stocks - [MSFT.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFT.US.md) - [MSFX.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFX.US.md) - [MSFL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFL.US.md) - [CLOU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/CLOU.US.md) - [IXN.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IXN.US.md) - [MSFU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFU.US.md) - [IGV.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/IGV.US.md) - [XSW.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XSW.US.md) - [MSFO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFO.US.md) - [OpenAI.NA](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/OpenAI.NA.md) - [AMZN.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AMZN.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Dubai Holding collaborates with Microsoft to integrate AI into core of its operations](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286761090.md) - [Billionaire investor Bill Ackman reveals new bets on Microsoft](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286541331.md) - [What's Karpathy, AI's top influencer, up to when he joined Anthropic?](https://longbridge.com/en/news/287068743.md) - [Gamco Investors Boosts Microsoft Stake, Adding 7,757 Shares](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286630699.md) - [Elon Musk has lost his lawsuit against Sam Altman and OpenAI](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286803660.md)
