# ICE Canada Morning Comment: ICE Canola Falling With Soy Complex

WINNIPEG, Manitoba--ICE canola futures were weaker Thursday morning, as large losses in Chicago soybeans and soyoil spilled into the Canadian market.

China is thought to be unlikely to make any new purchases of soybeans from the U.S., despite meetings between the leaders of the two countries in Beijing this week. U.S. Secretary of State Scott Bessent said in an interview Thursday morning that the existing purchase commitment by China means "soybeans are all taken care of."

Rising soybean production estimates out of Brazil also were bearish for the oilseed markets, including canola.

Weather forecasts remain relatively favorable for spring seeding across much of Western Canada.

The July canola contract dipped below its 20-day moving average, which was bearish from a chart standpoint.

About 15,100 canola contracts had traded as of 9:51 a.m. ET.
