# Tesla Expands in India With New Bengaluru Experience Center

Tesla has opened its first Experience Center in Bengaluru, continuing the company’s carefully staged expansion into India as it ramps up sales, service, and charging infrastructure across the country.

Located at VR Bengaluru in Whitefield, the new facility becomes Tesla’s fourth Experience Center in India, following earlier openings in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Delhi Aerocity, and Gurugram. Bengaluru’s addition was widely expected given the city’s reputation as India’s technology capital and one of the country’s fastest-growing markets for premium electric vehicles.

The new showroom gives customers the opportunity to see Tesla’s Model Y lineup in person, including the recently introduced Model YL, a larger six-seat version of the electric SUV.

The Bengaluru opening comes less than a year after Tesla officially entered the Indian market after years of speculation and discussions surrounding import duties, government incentives, and local manufacturing requirements.

Initial deliveries have been sourced from Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai. India currently imposes high import duties on fully built vehicles, contributing to the premium pricing of Tesla’s lineup in the country.

That high pricing has led to lower than anticipated sales in the country. After beginning deliveries in September, the automaker delivered just 225 cars in 2025.

While Tesla has not yet confirmed plans for a manufacturing facility in India, which would help remove the steep import duties and lower prices, the steady rollout of showrooms, service centres, and charging infrastructure suggests the automaker is building the foundation for a much larger presence in the market over the coming years.
