# OpenAI Reportedly Considers Legal Action Against Apple Inc. (AAPL.IS) Over Disappointing ChatGPT Integration

According to Reuters citing sources, the two-year partnership between Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) and OpenAI has become strained. OpenAI believes that the progress of integrating ChatGPT into Apple devices has fallen short of expectations and has not generated the anticipated revenue. OpenAI is consulting law firms and considering legal action, potentially issuing a notice of breach of contract to Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) .

It is understood that OpenAI does not intend to file a lawsuit immediately and has attempted to renegotiate terms with Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) . However, negotiations remain stalled as relations between the two parties have deteriorated.

Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) has adjusted its strategy to accelerate the introduction of other AI models and is testing the integration of Anthropics Claude and Googles Gemini. Nevertheless, OpenAIs consideration of legal action is not due to Apple introducing other AI models, as OpenAIs contract was not originally exclusive. Gemini is expected to provide technical support for Apples upcoming new Siri, with Apple planning to disclose more details at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
