# Nintendo finally fixes 10 Tomodachi Life bugs

If your Mii characters have been stuck in emotional limbo, unable to save after a heartfelt confession, or locked out of placing a wishing fountain back on their island, Nintendo just came through. Version 1.0.2 of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream arrived May 14, 2026, addressing 10 specific bugs that had been quietly undermining island life since the game’s debut just a month earlier.

For a title built around nurturing quirky Mii relationships, decorating homes and watching a community grow in wonderfully unpredictable ways, technical hiccups can deflate the whole charm fast. Nintendo moved quickly to prevent that from happening.

  

### **What got fixed and why it matters**

The update is available now across all Nintendo Switch consoles, either through the automatic update feature or manually via the HOME Menu. Here is a full look at all 10 issues that version 1.0.2 puts to rest.

1.  Island building progress would freeze entirely after players spent hours developing their islands, bringing all forward momentum to a complete halt.
2.  Changing a home’s exterior at the Palette House could also lock up island progression, leaving players stranded in the middle of a makeover.
3.  After a Mii character’s love confession succeeded and the player tried to save, the game would falsely report the save file as corrupted, making it impossible to preserve the moment.
4.  A similar save corruption error surfaced when multiple Mii characters began living together, a bug that risked wiping out hours of shared island progress.
5.  During scene transitions, a rare but significant error could occur, cutting the action short at a moment’s notice.
6.  The wishing fountain could be stored using the Island Builder but would then become impossible to place back on the island, preventing any wishes from being granted.
7.  After two Mii characters failed to reconcile following a fight, the one who lost the argument would inexplicably lose all romantic feelings for a completely different crush, creating unintended heartbreak on the island.
8.  Once a Mii’s sadness meter emptied, some characters still remained visibly gloomy instead of recovering, trapping them in a permanent emotional rut.
9.  The local play feature, which allows players to send and receive items with friends, was broken entirely, making item trading with others impossible.
10.  The treasure item labeled as a sugar glider was displaying an image of a southern flying squirrel instead. Nintendo has corrected the image to accurately reflect the actual animal.</

### **More improvements on the way**

Beyond those 10 named fixes, Nintendo confirmed that additional behind the scenes adjustments were included to improve the overall gameplay experience. The company did not elaborate on every individual change, but players should notice a noticeably smoother and more stable performance across daily island interactions.

### **How to download the update**

Getting the patch installed is straightforward. Connect the Nintendo Switch to the internet, highlight the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream icon on the HOME Menu without launching the game, press the plus or minus button on the controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet. Consoles with auto-update already enabled may have received the patch on their own.

Nintendo also advises that all players in a shared session run the same software version to avoid any compatibility issues during multiplayer play.
