# SIA April passenger traffic up 7% on spillover demand to Europe, US

**Budget carrier Scoot outpaced the main airline with a 91% load factor.**

Singapore Airlines (SIA) reported a 7% year-on-year increase in group passenger traffic for April, outpacing its passenger capacity growth of 6.3%.

In a statement, the group said the traffic growth lifted its passenger load factor (PLF) by 0.5 percentage points to 88.4%.

Mainline carrier Singapore Airlines posted a monthly PLF of 87.7%, whilst low-cost unit Scoot recorded 91%.

Combined, the two airlines carried 3.6 million passengers during the month, up 7.5% from a year earlier.

Cargo loads rose 3.7% against a capacity expansion of 2.3%. Consequently, cargo load factor increased by 0.8 percentage points to 57.9%.

The group said it continued to benefit from spillover passenger traffic and cargo demand, particularly on routes to Europe and the Americas, as capacity through Middle East hubs remained constrained due to ongoing regional conflict.

As of 30 April 2026, the group’s passenger network covered 134 destinations in 35 countries and territories. SIA served 77 destinations, whilst Scoot operated services to 82 destinations.

The cargo network comprised 137 destinations in 36 countries and territories.
