This marks a move by the Japanese automaker to further expand the export reach of its Chinese production base from its current Latin American markets into North America. The first batch of models the company plans to export may include the N7 electric sedan and a pickup truck named Frontier Pro, which will first test the waters in the Latin American market, according to the report. Nissan's joint venture in China, Dongfeng Nissan, has launched a new lineup of electrified products dubbed the N series, including the pure electric N7 sedan and the newly launched flagship SUV model NX8. As Dongfeng Nissan's first model to offer an extended-range version, the NX8 garnered over 8,400 orders within just 30 minutes of its launch, driven by an aggressive pricing strategy. The starting price of this mid to large-size SUV dropped to 149,900 yuan ($22,030) after limited-time incentives, significantly lower than the average selling price of electric SUVs in the same class in the North American market.
