# SBI Group Plans Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in Japan

SBI Group has announced that its asset management division is preparing to launch Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, along with multi-asset crypto trusts in Japan. According to NS3.AI, the company aims to achieve $31.5 billion in assets under management within three years of the launch. The introduction of these products is contingent upon Japan's reform of crypto fund regulations and taxation policies. Separate taxation for these funds could begin as early as 2027, pending legislative approval, with ETF trading potentially commencing by 2028. SBI Group intends to leverage its existing distribution network, which already connects with millions of Japanese household investors, to facilitate the rollout of these financial products.
