With this comes plenty of celebratory items, including a planned special event from Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy that was met with mixed reaction. The revelation that aerospace stock Boeing (BA) chipped in for the event's production costs did not hit well either. Known as _The Great American Road Trip_, the tour features Duffy, his wife and nine children as they travel. Boeing, meanwhile, added $1 million to the operation to help defray the costs. It was not alone, as other corporate sponsorships were said to be involved. The series has been met with criticism, including the notion that Duffy and family are getting what amounts to a free grand tour vacation while everyday Americans struggle to fill their tanks at the gas pump in an era of nearly $5 gas. Duffy's response, assigning blame to the "…radical, miserable left" for any criticism of the event, also had a certain Antoinette-ish quality to it. ## **Back to India** A new report out from _Reuters_ also posed an issue for Boeing, as the Indian government—via the Directorate General of Civil Aviation—is insisting on a presence at an upcoming test of a fuel-control switch panel. The panel was removed from an Air India 787, and had been found to have a possible defect. Given that a recent 787 crash in India may have been connected to the fuel-control panel, it is scarcely surprising that India wants to be in the room when the tests are conducted. This may offer insight, if not an answer outright, into the crash of June 2025. ## **Is Boeing a Good Stock to Buy Right Now?** Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on BA stock based on 15 Buys and one Hold assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below.
