# The Shanghai Composite Index opened down 16 points, and the Shenzhen Component Index fell 82 points

The mainland stock market softened in the early session, with the SSE Index opening at 4,152 points, down 16 points or 0.4%.

The Shenzhen Index opened at 15,487 points, also down 82 points or 0.53%.

The CSI 300 Index fell 23 points or 0.48%, opening at 4,829 points; the ChiNext Index opened at 3,889 points, down 18 points or 0.48%
