The company will stop production at the Singapore facility on 30 June 2026, according to a joint media release by Gardenia and the Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union (FDAWU). Gardenia said the move is part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and remain competitive amid a challenging global business environment. FDAWU and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) are supporting affected workers through job placement assistance, training opportunities, career coaching, and retrenchment support. The union was informed of the move in advance, allowing it to work with Gardenia on fair retrenchment terms and identify suitable vacancies. NTUC said affected Singaporeans and permanent residents may access NTUC’s e2i services, including job matching, career coaching, and skills-upgrading advisory support. FDAWU will also organise on-site jobs and skills training, such as resume-writing and interview preparation. Eligible employees may also be considered for suitable roles within the wider Gardenia group network, where possible. Gardenia will sponsor one year of union membership for existing union members so they can continue accessing career and financial support. Although production will move to Malaysia, Gardenia said Singapore will remain a key business hub. The company will continue to have about 250 employees in Singapore handling brand management, innovation, product development, quality and regulatory oversight, customer engagement, distribution, and supply chain operations. ### Related Stocks - [Q01.SG](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/Q01.SG.md) ## Related News & Research - [Stream Realty Partners Announces Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Distribution Platform](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286950557.md) - [Karnataka introduces AIB-based excise system, revises liquor rates](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286664130.md) - [Molson Coors Beverage Company Announces Pricing of its Public Offering of United States Dollar-Denominated Senior Notes | TAP Stock News](https://longbridge.com/en/news/287149336.md) - [Exploring Three Undiscovered Gems in the Middle East Market](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286881831.md) - [SNAP changes in 2026: How stricter rules and rising food prices impact millions of American families](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286801784.md)
