# Payward Secures VARA Authorization in UAE, Enabling Kraken to Expand Regional Presence

Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency platform Kraken, has expanded into the United Arab Emirates after receiving preliminary approval for a broker-dealer, investment, and management license from the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority in Dubai. This move allows Kraken to offer a comprehensive array of services in Dubai, with the company being granted regulatory approval to do so. Kraken, known as one of the oldest and most liquid cryptocurrency platforms globally, is now authorized to operate fully in the UAE market.
