The Dow Jones (DJIA) is set to open Thursday in the red amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has communicated that the country's enriched uranium should not be sent abroad, two Iranian officials told _Reuters_. That runs counter to the U.S. and Israel, which have called for Tehran to transfer its stockpile to a third country as part of peace talks.

## **Uncertainty Grows Over Iran's Position on Uranium Transfer**

Iranian officials believe sending the material out of the country will leave Iran vulnerable to future attacks. The decision is ultimately up to Khamenei.

Still, Fox News White House correspondent Aishah Hasnie said in an X post that a source familiar with the situation denies the validity of Iran's hardline stance of transferring enriched uranium. "According to someone directly involved with the negotiations, this report is false," she wrote.
