# After more than a decade of cooperation, Amlogic partners with Google to usher in a new era of smart home "chips."

At 1:00 AM Beijing time on May 20, the 2026 Google I/O conference officially opened. In addition to updates and upgrades to several AI products, Google's Senior Product Manager Mihai Antonescu also introduced the Google Home Gemini Built-in project and announced Amlogic as the designated system integrator. This marks the formal elevation of the long-term deep cooperation relationship between the two parties to "ecological co-construction," with Amlogic becoming a key bridge connecting the Gemini large model with global hardware manufacturers.

Self-developed AI computing units become the "optimal solution" for Gemini's end-side AI

According to Amlogic's 2025 annual report, the company has currently built a complete chip product portfolio covering smart multimedia and display SoCs, AIoT SoCs, communication and connectivity chips, and automotive electronics SoCs, widely used in core scenarios such as end-side intelligence, high-speed connectivity, wireless routing, smart vision, advanced display technology, and connected vehicles. As the core chip supplier for Google's Gemini AIoT hardware, Amlogic has provided high-performance, low-power SoC main control chips for Google's entire range of smart terminals, covering various devices such as smart speakers, visual doorbells, and indoor and outdoor smart cameras, with a cumulative supply of millions of units, providing solid computing power support for the large-scale implementation of Google's smart home ecosystem.

In addition, Amlogic is continuously expanding the boundaries of its chip ecosystem, accelerating the platform's implementation in more terminal forms and segmented markets. Especially in the field of end-side AI, the company has proactively laid out self-developed NPUs (Neural Processing Units). By the end of 2025, more than 20 chip models have integrated self-developed end-side AI computing units, with annual shipments exceeding 20 million units, a year-on-year increase of 160% This strategic cooperation focuses on the Google Home Gemini built-in project, aiming to provide standardized one-stop solutions to help hardware manufacturers quickly develop and launch smart home products natively compatible with Gemini. Relying on Amlogic's self-developed high AI computing power units and the deep optimization of the Gemini large model, combined with the Gemma 4 intelligent body, both parties will jointly promote the large-scale implementation of end-side multimodal AI capabilities. It is understood that the SoC chip customized by Amlogic for the Gemini ecosystem can achieve low-latency voice interaction and real-time video analysis, perfectly balancing low power consumption and high security requirements in smart home scenarios.

From "selling chips" to "empowering ecosystems," anchoring the trillion-dollar end-side AI market

According to the latest report from Grand View Research, the global smart home market is expected to reach USD 537.27 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27% from 2025 to 2030. As the designated project system integrator, Amlogic has successfully positioned itself within the Google Home ecosystem and is expected to continue benefiting from major trends such as terminal upgrades, operator procurement cycles, and the popularization of end-side AI applications.

Utilizing the shared technology base of Gemini and Gemma 4 (Google's next-generation lightweight end-side open-source intelligent model, proficient in autonomous task planning and multimodal real-time interaction), future development can focus on the prototype design and development of Gemma 4 intelligent body processes for whole-home smart scenarios, creating end-side Agent workflows with autonomous decision-making, multi-step task planning, and cross-device collaboration. This will address the technical shortcomings of smart homes transitioning from passive response to proactive service, solving the long-standing issue of ecological fragmentation in the industry. Under the framework of the Google Home Gemini built-in project, it will provide global third-party hardware manufacturers with an integrated solution of "chip + algorithm + ecosystem + Agent intelligent body process," promoting the integration of Gemini and Gemma 4 AI intelligent body technology into households worldwide.

In the future, both parties will continue to deepen technical collaboration and ecological co-construction, adopting an open and win-win posture to lead the high-quality development of the global smart home ecosystem and usher in a new era of proactive and autonomous smart homes
