# Tesla owners to attempt first ever FSD drive across Canada

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software is about to face its biggest real-world test yet in Canada. A team of owners have announced plans to attempt a coast-to-coast drive from Vancouver, British Columbia all the way to the Atlantic Ocean using only Tesla’s latest FSD v14.3.3 software.

The trip begins this Sunday, with the team of Devin Olsen, David Moss, and Spencer planning to livestream and post updates throughout the journey.

Coast-to-coast EV drives in Canada were once considered ambitious because of limited fast-charging options between major cities. Over the last several years, however, Tesla’s Supercharger network and other charging providers have dramatically expanded across the country, making cross-Canada EV travel far more realistic than it once was.

Now the challenge is shifting from charging availability to vehicle autonomy. The drive will span approximately 6,000 km through multiple provinces and expose Tesla’s FSD software to a wide range of conditions, including dense urban traffic, long stretches of rural highways, construction zones, changing speed limits, and probably a bit of wildlife too.

While this is the first attempt at an autonomous coast-to-coast drive in Canada, it has already happened multiple times in the U.S.. Earlier this month another team completed a Cannonball Run drive from New York City to California in under 50 hours using FSD v14.3.2 without a single disengagement or intervention.

That achievement cut more than eight hours off the previous autonomous Cannonball record and further demonstrated the rapid pace of Tesla’s software improvements.

Then there is the historic first autonomous drive across the U.S., completed earlier this year by David Moss, who will also be on board to lend his expertise for this attempt across Canada.
