# The Hong Kong Hang Seng Index closed flat, the Tech Index rose by 1.6%, and gold prices fell to around $4,520

The Hang Seng Index fell slightly by 0.03%, while the Tech Index rose by 1.59%. The semiconductor sector led the gains, with Hua Hong Semiconductor and SMIC showing significant increases. The Hang Seng Tech ETF (ChinaAMC) (513180) closed up 2.11%, and the Hang Seng Healthcare ETF (ChinaAMC) (159892) rose by 0.29%.

London spot gold fell about 1% to $4,520 per ounce, breaching the $4,550 level. The market's expectations for a hawkish Federal Reserve have increased, with the dollar and U.S. Treasury yields suppressing gold prices, which may remain volatile at high levels in the short term.

Institutional views suggest that Hong Kong stocks are in a phase of consolidation and bottoming out, with the logic of valuation recovery for tech stocks unchanged.
