HSBC optimistic forecast: Anthropic is expected to increase Microsoft's (MSFT.US) revenue by $43 billion According to the Zhitong Finance APP, HSBC has released a report stating that Microsoft's (MSFT.US) collaboration with the AI startup Anthropic could bring the Windows manufacturer up to $43 billion in new revenue. **HSBC has given Microsoft a "Buy" rating with a target price of $571.** HSBC analyst Stephen Bersey wrote in the report: "We expect Anthropic's revenue to reach approximately $241 billion by 2030, whereas we previously estimated its revenue would be below $5 billion in 2025. Notably, Anthropic accounts for about 5% of Microsoft's remaining performance obligations (RPO), while OpenAI accounts for 46%. Therefore, as Anthropic's revenue grows rapidly, Microsoft's new partnership with Anthropic could become a significant source of revenue growth." Bersey added: "If we assume that Anthropic's computing demand expenditure will account for 60% of its revenue by 2030, this would provide cloud infrastructure providers with an annual revenue opportunity of $144 billion. If Microsoft Azure can capture 30% of that share, it would bring Microsoft an annual revenue opportunity of $43 billion by 2030." Bersey stated that the revenue Microsoft currently receives from Anthropic is "minimal." Under the leadership of CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft announced a new strategic partnership with NVIDIA and Anthropic in November 2025. As part of the collaboration, NVIDIA and Microsoft committed to investing up to $10 billion and $5 billion in Anthropic, respectively. At that time, Anthropic also stated that it would invest $30 billion to purchase computing resources from Microsoft Azure and planned to procure up to 1 gigawatt of computing power additionally. As of the time of publication, Microsoft was down 0.81% in pre-market trading, at $412.70. Microsoft's stock price has fallen nearly 14% this year, pressured by high capital expenditures and competitive pressures from AI rivals ### Related Stocks - [MSFT.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFT.US.md) - [MSFX.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFX.US.md) - [MSFU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFU.US.md) - [MSFO.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFO.US.md) - [MSFL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFL.US.md) - [MSFD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFD.US.md) - [MSFY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MSFY.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Microsoft Stock Is a Buy as OpenAI Prepares for an IPO.
