# American Airlines Stock (AAL) Wings Higher as Profit Outlook Is Maintained

American Airlines' (AAL) stock is rising after the company maintained its full-year profit outlook despite surging fuel prices.

American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said at an investor conference on May 27 that the carrier is being supported by stronger revenue, demand for premium seats on its flights, and continued growth in corporate travel. Those positive factors are helping to offset rising costs for jet fuel, he said.

Still, Isom acknowledged that the Texas-based carrier is being kept aloft right now by high-income travelers, who are outpacing middle- and lower-income customers when it comes to booking flights this year as inflation rises.
