# Manulife Singapore Brings Multi-Cancer Screening to Insurance Clients

**Manulife Singapore is expanding its push into preventive healthcare and longevity solutions through a new collaboration with precision oncology specialist Guardant Health.**

The insurer announced that eligible customers in Singapore will gain access to Guardant Health’s Shield™ multi-cancer detection (MCD) blood test from May 2026, making Manulife the first insurer in the city-state to offer the screening solution.

The move forms part of an exclusive Asian partnership between the two companies spanning Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines, underlining Manulife’s broader strategy of combining health protection with long-term wealth and longevity planning.

**Focus on Early Detection**

The Shield™ MCD laboratory-developed test is designed to screen for ten of the most common cancers through a single blood draw, including several cancers associated with high mortality rates in Singapore.

The test recently received the «Oncology Product Innovation of the Year» award at the Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards and has also been granted Breakthrough Device Designation by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between Manulife and Guardant Health, which already provides customers in Singapore with access to the Guardant360® Liquid test for advanced solid tumours.

**Longevity as Strategic Theme**

For Manulife, the partnership reflects a growing focus among insurers on preventive care and healthy ageing as Asia’s population demographics shift.

«As people live longer, the real question is how well we live those years,» said **Benoit Meslet**, President and CEO of Manulife Singapore. «By giving customers early visibility into their health, we are helping them make better decisions today, so they can live well for years to come.»

Singapore is among Asia’s fastest-ageing societies, with healthcare systems increasingly prioritising preventive and personalised care. Cancer remained the leading cause of death in Singapore in 2024, accounting for more than a quarter of all deaths, according to figures cited by the company.

The initiative also aligns with findings from Manulife’s Asia Care Survey 2025, which showed that more than half of Singapore consumers consider cancer the most difficult illness to prevent.

**Blending Health and Wealth Planning**

**Michelle Fang**, Chief Marketing Officer at Manulife Singapore, said the offering reflects rising demand among consumers for solutions that support both health and financial resilience.

«Singapore consumers value the quality of years lived as they seek to age with dignity and independence,» she said. «Paired with our wealth planning expertise, this enables them to plan for their future confidently.»

The insurer has increasingly positioned longevity as a core strategic theme in Asia through initiatives including its annual Asia Care Survey, the Manulife Longevity Symposium and its wellness platform ManulifeMOVE.

The partnership with Guardant Health also supports the wider ambitions of the Manulife Longevity Institute, the company’s global platform focused on research, innovation and advocacy aimed at helping people live longer, healthier and more financially secure lives.

**Growing Role for Insurers**

The collaboration highlights how insurers in Asia are moving beyond traditional protection products and increasingly positioning themselves as broader health and wellness partners.

By integrating preventive healthcare tools into insurance ecosystems, firms aim not only to improve customer engagement but also potentially reduce long-term healthcare costs through earlier detection and intervention.

For Manulife, the partnership strengthens its positioning in the fast-growing intersection between insurance, healthcare and longevity planning across Asia.
